Look! I’m on TV!!
I have a dream, that this speech will live on in infamy and be said four score and seven years from now in a galaxy far far away. But we know that will not happen. But I’m really trying my hardest. I promise.
Originally I did not know where to start. So I sought a little help from the Speech topics help dot com. If everyone else uses it, why can’t I?
Speech topics help dot com recommends that I give credit to many people for where I am today. So, Thank you.
Next I should reminisce about the past and how it has taught me great things. Additionally I should include a humorous anecdote… I’ve got nothing
Meow I would discuss the present, the future and my wishes. Right now we are at graduation. I can’t see the future. I wish I was like Tiger. He’s a beast.
The conclusion: tears begin to flow and people begin to wake up from their naps. It recommends that I include words like accomplish, possible, don’t give up, you’re winners, and greatness.
It was great class of 2008, best of luck!
I was going to turn in that as my speech because I really had more important things to do.
For example, I’ve been working on my Federalist papers essay and my Incentives essay which are nearly done for you Tree. They’ll be on your desk Monday.
But really, that just doesn’t make for a great speech because it isn’t from the heart.
Also, today is a very important day for all of us. We have worked ever so hard and we’re nearly done. MADS, Adrien, Daniel, Scott, need I say more? And to all of you teachers that have helped me, thanks. I can’t help but mention a few highlights of senior year: Kamp naming her baby after me, Mock Trial taking nationals, and quitting world of war craft!
I think that before the commencement begins also, since this is a very important day, that you all should make sure that your cameras are focused and working. So go ahead and try them out on me. Plus I want all of you to have something to remember me by.
I also could have ripped off a valedictory speech from YouTube in between Afro Ninja, Numa Numa guy, my new haircut, unforgiveable, timothy delaghetto, and all the fat kid falling videos. But I didn’t…
In the end, I could not create a great quote of my own to represent how I feel right now and what I want to tell to you, class of 2008. But I did find something that does the job. Voltaire the French enlightenment thinker and Freemason said:
“Man is free at the instant he wants to be”
So I am not going to demand you spread your wings and fly away class of 2008. Even though many of you feel you need to or many people are telling you that you need to. For many of you it may not be just time yet. Because graduation is really just like any other last day of school. Except we’re all wearing “gowns”, dresses. But for many others, today is your day to be free. And I am glad I have been able to witness your liberation - like a beautiful dove! And for many of you this unleashing is far overdue and again, good luck.
But from what I’ve learned from late night commercials, it’s not good to do anything “before it’s matured”. High school is over but take your time if you need it..
So when you want, class of 2008, be free
